The Institute of Technology of Cambodia and Wallonia25/11/2019

The Institute of Technology of Cambodia and universities from the Wallonia-Brussels Federation have been cooperating for quite a number of years. Cambodia has a wealth of agricultural resources as well as qualified technicians (in particular graduate students from the ITC) while Wallonia, in addition to prime universities and centers of excellence, is home to some internationally acclaimed business incubators.

With the support of some seasoned Belgian businessmen already active in Cambodia, we shall be working on designing a creative business approach for the benefit of companies from Wallonia and Cambodia. The most promising sectors that have been identified are smart agriculture, food processing and ICT.

The ITC has been enjoying the support of the DGD (Federal Development Assistance) and the ARES (Académie de Recherche et d’Enseignement Supérieur) for over 20 years and has cooperated in different fields with the University of Liège, Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech, the ULB and UCL, as well as NGO’s dedicated to the improvement of the living conditions of the population of Cambodia. So far, Wallonia’s business presence in Cambodia has been quite limited, but we are determined to improve the situation with the help of the ICT and other local stakeholders.
